Cooperations by geographical areas
UNITED KINGDOM
INRIA has intensive collaborations with several British universities and research institutes. The most active ones involve:
- University of Edimbourg (theoretical informatics, distributed systems, real-time systems, control theory)
- Imperial College (theoretical informatics, software engineering),
- University of Keele (computer vision, robotics),
- University of Shefield (computer vision, robotics),
- University of Stirling (computer vision),
- University of Cambridge (theoretical informatics),
- University of Oxford (theoretical informatics, scientific computation),
- University of Sussex (concurrency, parallelisation),
- University of Warwik (algorithms),
- University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (reliability and distributed systems),
- University of Bath (parallelisation).
In addition, INRIA is associated to 56 British partners in 39 European projects. In 1995 an international conference on numerical simulation in electromagnetism and the following workshops were jointly organised by INRIA and the University of Oxford with an important industrial participation (British Aerospace, Dassault, ONERA-CERT and Aerospatiale). Following this event a "European Electromagnetic Data-Base" was created which is managed by INRIA.
Finally, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) is a member of ERCIM. This has generated numerous exchanges on graphics, on parallel architectures and in numerical analysis.
